The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) and Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery offer numerous opportunities for artists

 

Juried Exhibition

This pioneering exhibition has provided a platform for emerging artists in Southern California for over six decades. The next Juried exhibition will be held  July 22 – September 16, 2018. Artists will be selected from an open call for entries by a jury of three experts in the field: Jonathan Griffin, art critic; Jamillah James, Curator, Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and Steven Nelson, Professor of African and African American Art History, UCLA.

COLA Fellowship

The COLA Fellowship Program, produced by the DCA, honors an assortment of Los Angeles’ best contemporary artists. The supports the creation of new work culminating in an exhibition at LAMAG. or performing and literary arts showcase, and an online catalog to document and market the selected artists and their new works as one cross-section of the exciting Los Angeles art scene. Artist in Residence (AIR)

The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is now accepting proposals for its 2018-19 Artist in Residence (AIR) programs.

The Artist in Residence RFP seeks community-based/teaching artists to coordinate multi-week participatory workshops in non-arts venues such as social service agencies, culminating in group presentations. Further information can be found here: http://dcaredesign.org/air.
