LAMAGLearnGravity and Trouble Closing Events
Saturday, April 13, 1:30 – 3:30 PM
Participants were invited to experience David Alekhuogie and Mariah Garnett’s exhibitions one last time with a special day of events with the artists.
At 1:30 PM, David Alekhuogie led a listening party featuring music and sounds relating to his exhibition.
At 2:30 PM, Mariah Garnett debuted her latest publication, Trouble, and was in conversation with Eoin Dara, Head of Exhibitions at Dundee Contemporary in Scotland and William J. Simmons, Provost Fellow in the Humanities at the University of Southern California. This 30 page booklet featured texts by Dara and Simmons, images associated with research for Garnett’s eponymous film, and installation images of her survey at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. Copies of the publication were available for sale at the Dirty Looks booth at the LA Arts Book Fair and the artist’s website.
